The Processor converts structured data into RDF triples and then stores them in the TripleStore, and automatically generates a putative Ontology. This implements semantic interoperability, which is the ability of computer systems to exchange data with unambiguous, shared meaning.
Much like a relational database, information stored in a triple store can be retrieved and analysed using a specialist semantic query language, like SPARQL.
The TripleStore supports a number of back-end storage options (the shipped default is RDF4J). A triple store is a purpose-built database for the storage and retrieval of triples. A triple is a data entity composed of a subject, predicate and object.
